Neuroimaging Inflammation in Clinical Depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Each month The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation hosts a Meet the Scientist Webinar featuring a researcher discussing the latest findings related to mental illness. In December, 2018, the Foundation featured Dr. Jeffrey Meyer of the Center for Addiction Mental Health.

Description: New technology with a specialized brain imaging method called PET (positron emission tomography) detects inflammation with great sensitivity. It’s now being applied to make discoveries in depression obsessive compulsive disorder. This has important implications for understanding the pathophysiology of these illnesses improving treatments.
